Should I announce my conversion? Please send me the Gospel of Matthew. One of my friends sent me the New Testament and the Psalms. And that is how I embraced Christianity.

I’m struggling because I left my religion [Islam]—the religion that was binding me. I feel like Satan is trying to control me, and he scared me when I wanted to write to you right now. He tried to make me go back to my old religion. . . . Even now Satan is blaming me for each word that I am writing! But he is not going to deprive me from listening to you no matter how hard he tries! Your words are godly; they bring peace into my heart. These lessons direct us to the right way—Christ the Savior who came to the world to save us from our sins. I was living in darkness; however, when God directed me to Jesus, the true light enlightened me. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Before I did not know anything about Jesus, but when I came to know Him through the radio, I tried often to obtain a Bible and attend church meetings. I faced a lot of difficulties, but despite all this I decided to visit a church even though it’s far away. I prayed at the church and read the Bible, thank God. Whatever the difficulties, I am ready to bear them all for the sake of Jesus. For when I feel weak, I am strong. My faith in Jesus isn’t just a coincidence. God is the one who directed me and guided me to faith.

But years passed, and we forgot our religion. My friends suggested that I should write to you since you are experts in Christianity. (Algeria) I was led to the truth by a lady from Lebanon who was touring in Algeria. She gave me a radio as a gift. When I listened I came across the best station in the whole world—yours! But when my aunt with whom I have been living since my mom died found out that I was no longer a Muslim, she took the radio, threw it against the wall and broke it. So I no longer have a radio.
